Sleep apnea is the most common sleeping disorder. Doctors estimate that about 1 in 15 persons (18 million people) have sleep apnea. Early recognition and treatment of sleep apnea is important because it may be associated with irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, heart attack, and stroke. Sleep Apnea occurs in all age groups and both sexes, but is more common in men. Symptoms include snoring, daytime sleepiness, morning headaches, loss of memory, inability to concentrate, and irritability.
